The Kent Arnold Significant Contributor Award is presented annually to any McWane employee that exemplifies passion, dedication, and achievement in health and safety. This year’s award was presented to James Stephenson from Tyler Pipe located in Tyler, Texas. McWane Group Safety Director Mike Parker presented the award to James in front of his peers at Tyler Pipe on July 11.

James has worked at Tyler Pipe for 44 years as a Master Mechanic and for the past 15 years James has been a leader for safety, leading the way to “do the right thing.”  He serves on multiple committees including the Machine Safe Guarding Committee and the Joint Union Management Safety Committee.  James is also the only team member on the Safe Guarding Committee that also serves as the Departmental Safety Representative.  He makes all the meetings and is an outspoken champion for the promotion of safety in the workplace.
