Bibby-Ste-Croix and Fonderie Laperle were proud to sponsor several courageous team members again this year for the Pierre Lavoie Challenge which collects funds to promote healthy living habits.  Team members had two options for the challenge.

The first option was a 1,000 km (over 621 miles) course which was spread out over 4 days for cycling enthusiasts and experience cyclists.  Team members Alain Poissant (Laperle) and his team Epicurus from Quebec City and Alex Papineau (Ste-Croix) and his team Go Lotbiniere each made it more than 600 km!  The ride began in LaBaie, Saguenay and finished in Montreal.  The teams slept only 11 hours over 4 days, an excellent example of toughness and exceptional physical fitness.

The money collected by Alain and his team will be donated to the Gaudreault School in the Clermont municipality in La Malbaie and the money collected by Alex and his team will be donated to the Lamennais School in Ste-Croix where Alex’s children study.  This school is ranked second in the Navigateur School Commission in terms of fitness.

The second option was called The Loop.  Tom Leonared, Guy Dubois, Jean Couture, Steve Larose, Pierre Cayer, Pierre-Luc Fallu, Alain Beaudet, Sylvain Daigle and Remy Falardeau took part in The Loop.  They joined the group dong the 1,000 km race in Montmagny and completed 123 km (about 76 miles) throughout the day.

Congratulations to the incredible team members that entered this challenge to promote healthy living!
