Most of us have likely had household hazardous waste that we were uncertain of how to handle and dispose of. Waste materials like used batteries & fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, fertilizers, pesticides, paint products and e-waste to name a few. To help support & address the problem for the general public, McWane Ductile Utah (MDU) once again sponsored the Utah County Health Department's Household Hazardous Waste Collection that was held Saturday, April 13th. MDU co-sponsored the event with the county health department and several other sponsors to plan & host the event at a local shopping mall. With the help of MDU’s environmental team and nearly 200 volunteers, this year’s event provided civic support to the local community in helping the public properly dispose of over 45 tons of household hazardous waste! This was a great opportunity to help support the local community and based on the continued success of this annual event, MDU is already looking forward to next year's event.
